Ryanair to cut flights
11.07.09
Ryanair is to cut its flights from Edinburgh Airport by a third this winter. Flights on 8 of its routes will be cut from October, while there are reports that a further 11 routes could also be hit, after it emerged winter flights for the services had not been put on sale.
The budget airline currently flies 29 routes from the airport and hoped to carry 1.8 million passengers on flights to and from Edinburgh this year. However, the aviation industry has been badly affected by the recession and it would appear that Ryanair is planning deep cuts this winter.
