James Wilson, 22, of Gorgie Road, was stopped by officers from the UK Border Agency (UKBA) when he arrived at the airport following in May last year. The officers searched his luggage and found 180 grams of herbal cannabis hidden inside, with an estimated street value of more than £750.
Mr Wilson was sentenced to 60 days in prison following a hearing at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Friday. Colin Fraser, senior detection manager at UKBA, said: ‘This sentence sends a clear message. Smuggling drugs in any quantity will not be tolerated and the full weight of the law will be exercised.’
