Bomb disposal team called over shell casing

A bomb disposal team was called to Edinburgh Airport yesterday after a shell casing was dug up yards from the terminal during tram line construction.They removed the device and carried out a controlled explosion.
The incident happened at about 10:00 and did not affect flights, nor was the terminal evacuated. The airport is a former military airfield and unexploded bombs in the area are a known hazard for construction works.
