Passengers up 3.8%

The number of passengers using Edinburgh Airport rose again last month – the seventh month in a row that it has reported increasing passengers. Passengers were up 3.8% to 824,600 compared to last year. The annual figure was 9.1 million, and the airport's cargo also rose by almost three quarters over the year.
International traffic grew by 15% as the expansion by Ryanair's base at the hub contributed to its passenger increase. Glasgow, Aberdeen Airport and Prestwick airports all reported sharp declines in passengers.
